Brooklyn Girl Raped

A 17-year-old Brooklyn girl was raped and robbed by two brutes in broad day light Friday. The men robbed the girl and then forced her into an alley, where she was raped and sodomized.

The girl was walking near Belmont and Pennsylvania Aves. in East New York, Brooklyn at approximately 5:45 p.m. when the two men approached her. One man pointed a gun at the girl while the other one took her money and jewelry. He then fled the scene.

The other man forced the young woman into an alley and raped her.

The gun-wielding rapist was described as about 5-feet-7 and 175 pounds. He wore a red, hooded sweatshirt and white sneakers that read D&G, for Dolce and Gabbana. His accomplice was described as 5-feet-5 to 5-feet-8 and 145 to 175 pounds.

Police have released a sketch of the rapist and urged anyone with information to call (800) 577-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.

Now I posted this story because (1) it's sad that a girl, who might just be walking home from a friends house or school, was defiled in such a horrific manner. Rape is the most disgusting crime but unfortunately in this country, I feel, the punishment does not fit the crime. But I believe in "an eye for an eye" justice. The second reason is I live just down the road from where this happened. Not to put where I'm resting my head out there, but if your enough of a stalker your could find it out somehow. I have walked on Belmont and Pennsylvania many times. I have always been afraid to cross Pennsylvania at night by myself because on the other side prostitutes and drug addicts roam. Its just not right to me when you can't just live somewhere and be safe. Your home and your neighborhood is suppose to be the place you seek refuge from the world. That's all I have to say about that.
