He Said What?!?!?!

So back when I was in high school, taking chemistry my sophomore year, there was this cute guy that transferred into the school. He was recruited to play basketball. He was this real tall guy and he was slender with a peanut head, but all together it was real cute.

He was in my chemistry class and he sat right behind me. My chemistry teacher had asked me to catch him up on what we were doing. It didn't take too long to realize that he was like a doll, real cute on the outside but hollow on the inside.

So one day we were in class discussing oxidation and our teacher asked, "What color is blood before it comes into contact with air?"

Many students in the class raised their hand but like many teachers, this chemistry teacher decided to ask on the student that wasn't raising his hand.

The teacher called on the cute boy. He thought for a second then he said, "Green!"

Everyone in the class turned around and looked at him. Then the boy sitting next to him said, "No you fool. Blood is dark blue or purple before it hits the surface."

Now I know that when you watch the magic school bus the blood flowing is red and when I cut myself the blood starts as a dark color. But I have no idea how he came up with green. My seven-year-old nephew knows that blood is a dark color before it hits the surface, but this 15 or 16-year-old boy didn't know it. What really gets me about this story is that he ended up passing the class at the end of the school year. I was in this class with this boy, I felt he was border line retarded with some of the things that came out of his mouth but he still passed the class. I don't think it was a coincidence that he was a star player on the schools mediocre basketball team. How is him knowing how to shoot hoops going to help him this way in life. This was something so simple. I could understand if he doesn't get trigonometry or physics but elementary science concepts I don't understand.

So I said, "He said what?!?!?!"

If you borne witness to occurrences of stupidity like this, send it in. Your stupid act can be a part of the weekly "S/he said what?!?!?!"
